Bleaching Unwanted Facial Hair

It is almost everybody’s desire to get rid of excess hair, whether it is hair on the face, legs, armpits or other parts. The only part of the body that both men and women want hair to be visible is on the head. There are in fact a number of ways that you can get rid of excess hair, though not permanently.

In choosing which hair removal method for you, some of the things that you need to consider are your skin type, the amount of money that you are willing to spend for the procedure and of course the part of your body that you want to be hair free. Before we discuss one of the ways to remove the unwanted hair on your body, it is important to know first how hair actually grows. Each strand of hair belongs to a pilosebaceous unit. This unit contains a sebaceous gland, a hair follicle, a hair shaft and an erector pili muscle.

There are 3 phases that hair goes through to grow and shed. The growth phase or the anagen phase, the transitional or catagen phase, and lastly, the resting phase or also called the telogen phase. The period of time that hair spends in each stage depends on the genes, hormones and the exact part of the body. All of these things are to be taken into consideration in the choice of the hair removal method.

One of the more common methods that people choose to remove unwanted hair is with bleaching. However, through this, you won’t exactly get rid of the hair; rather the hair becomes less visible. This is the ideal method for the parts of the body where there are already thin but dark and visible hair, such as the neck, face and arms. Bleaching is done by putting a chemical on the targeted hair that can wash off the pigment, making it less noticeable.
