Permanent Hair Removal – Body & Face

permanent hair removal, electrolysisPermanent hair removal for body & face is popular today for women and, yes, men of all ages. This phenomenon isn’t all that new, however. People have been using all types of hair removal tricks for centuries so what’s the big deal? Hair removal in the old days may have been quite painful. Women didn’t worry about shaving their legs or armpits but men were absolutely faddish about having a closely groomed, well shaved head. How did they shave their head? Did they use an axe? How often did they shave, anyway? I’m getting off-course here. Let’s get back to the topic of permanent hair removal, shall we?

I’m thinking about why the big deal about permanent hair removal. What’s so bad about shaving, waxing or depilatories? (I’m strictly thinking women’s legs here.) The simple truth is women don’t want to perform the same old task over and over again! Shaving is a time-waster, waxing is expensive and painful and depilatories – that awful smell! No thanks! (I’ll update you on the costs of electrolysis and laser hair removal cost in another post soon.)

Now for the little secret – permanent hair removal isn’t quite as permanent as you’d think but it’s better than those other options. The most widely accepted method for long-term hair removal is electrolysis. It’s clinically effective and lasts the longest but can be painful, tedious and expensive. It’s also not as effective if we are talking about a lot of body hair, not just to enhance bikini lines! Think of a man’s chest and back hair…Electrolysis isn’t the best solution. But, if you chose this method be certain that the hair-removal clinician is state certified.

Laser hair removal is best for those people with dark body hair or just a whole bunch of it! Men – if you don’t want to shave regularly or use stinky depilatories, electrolysis is for you. Notice I didn’t bother to mention waxing. That’s just pure torture!
